The Garden offers a wealth of opportunity for open-air exhibitions and activities both permanent and temporary.

Our Visual arts workshops (digital photography, watercolours) & horticultural masterclasses are popular and of course, the setting is truly inspirational. In addition, ‘Art in the Garden’ takes place over long weekend in may of each year.

Specially commissioned art works and installations throughout the Garden include:

Pedestal by Colin Wright

"...a chainsaw can be employed can be employed to both develop form in wood as well as allow for the most simple or complex joining/jointing for construction.…It is these things in combination, I wish to explore"

Plant Hunters

Hunters History

The Plant Hunters were not just botanists, they were adventurers and explorers. They had to be tough to survive the conditions they faced in far-flung corners of the world. They survived shipwrecks, sieges and slavery and battled with pirates, escaped convicts and hostile natives.
