There is an exciting new exhibition in David Douglas Pavilion!

bhutan_175x250In 2010, Explorers Garden Manager and modern-day plant hunter, Julia Corden, was granted permission to make an expedition into the majestic realms of  the Kingdom of Bhutan. This photographic exhibition shows the stunning landscapes and fascinating flora of Bhutan and the hardy, colourful Bhutanese people that Julia met along the way. The exhibition is sponsored by the Scottish Rock Garden Club.

Plant Hunters

Hunters History

The Plant Hunters were not just botanists, they were adventurers and explorers. They had to be tough to survive the conditions they faced in far-flung corners of the world. They survived shipwrecks, sieges and slavery and battled with pirates, escaped convicts and hostile natives.
