From the Isle of Skye, Angus Nicolson and Coll MacDonald have been involved in traditional music for a number of years. A strong, mature blend of pipes and fiddle distilled in the Gaelic tradition sums up the recipe, and these young ‘Skye-men' music music is straight off the croft, and without a doubt, from the West Coast of Scotland. The Cherry on the Cream have played a wide variety of gigs and Festivals including the Blas Festival 2009 and this year's Celtic Connections, where they went down a storm! They will support Wolfstone in concert at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on Sunday 1st August. More on the Cherry On the Cream: Angus began his career as a competing piper with tuition from Iain MacFadyen. He had many successes at junior level, with prizes at the Northern Meeting and in 2002 he was Under 18 Young Piper of the Year. Since leaving school Angus has studied at Lews Castle College, Benbecula where he attained an HNC in Music Performance and in 2005 was granted a Dewar Award. After completing his studies Angus' out-look on music changed and he has since been focusing on performing rather than competing. Angus is now a well known tutor of both pipes and whistle, regularly teaching at numerous feisean all over Scotland. |

"When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
