Whisky Galore - A Musical! cast are reunited for Cinderella, Pitlochry Festival Theatre's first ever Pantomime!
As the curtain comes down on yet another highly successful Summer Season at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, preparations are well underway for PFT`s very first Christmas show: Cinderella, a lavish, fun-filled family pantomime.
PFT`s "fabled workshop teams" (The Times) are creating magical, large-scale sets under the ever watchful eye of West End designer Adrian Rees, who created the superb set and costumes for PFT`s smash hit musical Kiss Me, Kate this Summer. And the wardrobe department is especially busy, transforming multitudes of wonderful (and outrageous!) costume designs into dazzling and hilarious outfits, the like of which will never before have been seen before on the Pitlochry stage.
The large cast for Cinderella reunites many of the stars of Whisky Galore - A Musical!, which took Scotland by storm in the Year of Homecoming when it became the best selling show in PFT's 59 year history. Oh, and there`s an added dash of River City as well . . .
In no particular order, Cinderella`s host of colourful panto heroes, heroines and villains will be played by: Perth`s Martyn James, a veteran of 23 Seasons at PFT; Gavin Jon Wright (Whisky Galore - A Musical!, The Servant O' Twa Maisters); actor-musician extraordinaire Dougal Lee (Whisky Galore - A Musical!, Kiss Me, Kate); the winner of the 2010 Leon Sinden Award for Best Supporting Actor, George Rae (Whisky Galore - A Musical!, Noises Off, Kiss Me, Kate); Alan Steele (Good Things, Whisky Galore - A Musical!); Sandy Batchelor (Kiss Me, Kate, Whisky Galore - A Musical!); and Carol Ann Crawford (Good Things, Whisky Galore - A Musical!)
Deirdre Davis - River City's Eileen Donachie - will also star, alongside PFT favourites Jacqueline Dutoit (Noises Off, Habeus Corpus, Snake In The Grass), Crawford Logan (Passing Places, The Flouers o' Edinburgh, The Magistrate) and Irene Allan (What Every Woman Knows, The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie).
And who is playing Cinders? Well, we wouldn`t want to spoil the surprise . . .
Pitlochry Festival Theatre is famed for producing theatrical spectacles and Cinderella will be no different - if anything, expect it to surpass the famous Summer Season productions! So you`ll need to book early if you want to be sure of getting the best seats.

"When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
