Jonathan Battersby

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of our friend and colleague Jonathan Battersby on 22nd May.

Jonathan first appeared on the PFT stage in the old theatre in 1978, while his last appearance in the current building was in 2006. Always full of charm and bonhomie, Jonathan was a skilful, generous actor, who will probably be best remembered by our audiences for his outstanding performance as Vic Parks, the bank robber turned chat show host, in Ayckbourn`s Man Of The Moment. Jonathan`s sudden death is a great loss to the theatre world and he will be very much missed by all of us at PFT.

History

From 1951 to the 21st Century...

Discover our history "When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
