Whisky & Heritage

There are several excellent visitor attractions in the area such as Dewar’s World of Whisky, located in Aberfeldy, it’s within pleasant driving distance of Pitlochry. If books are your thing, try browsing our growing range of titles in the Festival Shop. Alternatively, make your way to the Watermill Bookshop whilst you’re in Aberfeldy. Blair Castle also provides an excellent day out. The ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl houses a great display of arms and armour, as well as extensive collections of porcelain, paintings and period furniture.

Eat, shop and be happy. There’s plenty to chose from with Deli’s, florist, even our won Just the Ticket main street outlet to brows and be happy in! In particular, we recommend:

Walking

There are over thirty way-marked walks in the local area. Park up and study your route – most car parks have display boards and of course leaflets are available from all Tourist Centres, including Pitlochry. Make sure you take in Queens View – the favourite viewpoint loved by Queen Victoria, who regularly visited highland Perthshire!

Wildlife

Throughout Perthshire, you’ll glimpse everything from red grouse and red deer to red squirrels and leaping salmon, as well as osprey, herons and dippers whilst in the area. Located beside the Theatre is the Explorers Garden, a celebration of the Scottish Planter Hunters. Make sure you walk in the footstep of these intrepid explorers during your stay. You will encounter wildlife, exotic plants and stunning architecture.
